Nani Croze is the founder and owner of Kitengela Glass, famous for most of the glass mosaics done in public places here in Nairobi. Herself an artist, both a painter and a sculptor, Nani came into art with soe resistance. Although she was born into a family of artists, she thought that she would not become one of them and looked down on this initially. However after moving to Kenya with her husband who was an animal behaviourist studying elephants in the Serengeti, Nani begun to experiment with making art, initially beginning with painting the walls of their house.

After moving to Nairobi, Nani found herself workng in public art and has since never looked back. She founded Kitengela Glass which included a glass-blowing space. She uses alot of recycled materials to help combat environmental degradation which is a primary concern in the Kitengela area in which her centre is based.

Nani continues to work primarily on large commissions for public spaces and continues to be in the forefront of glass art making in Kenya.

She was born in Germany in 1943.
