"Playwriting.Africa.2015": Call for playwrights!

Call by KUENDA productions (Germany / Uganda / Zimbabwe) and JOANNA EVANS (South Africa)

A call for African playwrights to submit scripts for the 'Playwriting.Africa.Festival' in Germany, curated by Kuenda Productions and Joanna Evans.

The three selected plays could receive a scenic reading at a German theatre, translation into German, and might be published by a German publisher. Authors could be invited to attend the readings in Munich.

Submission:

Please email a word document of the script, accompanied by a press release about the show, and the following information about the author: name, age, country of origin, some biographical information, contact details.

Deadline: 28th August 2014

Applicants will be noted of selection by the end of September.

Selection Criteria:

Looking for African playwrights, writing in Spanish, English, French, German or Portuguese. Specific interest lies in a contemporary African socio-political perspective. Plays must not have been published yet, but ideally should have had at least one professional performance.
