The Artists in Residency (AIR) is a programme organised by Cape Town-based Africa Centre and designed to support and celebrate the achievements of artists from Africa who are provocative, innovative and highly engaged, both with social issues and their art forms. AIR works in partnership with residencies throughout the world to identify African artists and fund their airfare to the residency.

African artists are invited to apply for the 4-6-week international residency programme by September 30, 2015. Artists will get the opportunity to concentrate on developing their crafts.

All artists who will be awarded will have their costs of the residency and round-trip airfare catered for. It is open to artists across all disciplines: visual arts; performing arts; creative & literary arts; film; and music & curatorial practice.

Find out more information about AIR application guidelines here http://www.africacentre.net/calling-for-applications-air-2015/

Deadline for application submissions is 30th September 2015.
