A peek into the lives of a group of hip Nairobi youngsters. Ayira is a young advertising student who knows how to use her looks and sex appeal to achieve her goals. Though she loves her boyfriend, she is afraid of letting love stand in the way of her dreams. When truth catches up with Ayira and her friends, they are forced to realize that nobody is immortal.

Shuga is a light and elegant story about middle class youth in Nairobi today, and by night, where sex plays a big role and the threat of HIV is not always taken seriously. With music, playful editing, and talented acting the film asks universal questions about life and love.
