Our festival is a platform that contributes towards youth job creation and socio-economic sustainability. It offers an opportunity for youth groups in the performing arts to showcase our diverse cultural and Contemporary dances, songs and folklore accompanied by rhythmic traditional drums, other instruments, and adornment of colorful costumes.



Uutmuntu Cultural Festival participation groups continues to growing from five (5) groups in 2011, to thirty (30) in 2014. Uumuntu Cultural Festival is competitive with Adjudicators and Awards.



Our Overall winning groups includes; Utamaduni Ngomas (2012/2013) and Viva Marimba 2014
Uumuntu Cultural Festival performance category include:-



Creative Reative Dance/Song/Story Telling/ Poetry accompanied with Live traditional or taped music.



Traditional Contemporary this evolves from cultural dance fusion with traditional music.



Modern Contemporary Dance Fusion this could be hip-hop type of dance



Dramatized Dance This is a dramatized presentation with traditional Instruments



Junior Dance Groups in any of the 5 categories



Cultural Dance/Song Is from any community in accompaniment with their costumes and instruments.



Uumuntu Cultural Festival Theme "Our Diversity, Our Strength" is inspired by the peaceful and harmonious co-existence practiced among Performing Arts Youth Groups that Shangari Communication has been working with since 2005.
