"Silence is a Woman" by Sitawa Nawalie

"Silence is a Woman" is an exploration of the countless spaces and faces of silence in my life. You've heard it said many times, 'Silence is a virtue; silence is golden'. But is that really true? "Silence is a Woman" explores the many ways in which our silence imprisons us, makes us complicit in our own alienation. It is about the silences in our homes, our work, our play, our communities and our government. It is entertaining, provocative and thoughtful. – Sitawa Namwalie (2014)
