Do you sometimes feel that fathers are not celebrated as much as they ought to? If yes, why do you think this is the case? Could it be because we hear more stories of men who left their wives and children or has the call to emancipate women overshadowed the need to appreciate our men?
Discussion is brewing up as we prepare for this Saturday's Fatuma's Voice, focusing on the perils of fatherhood. We'd like to know your thoughts on how we could ensure men are more involved in raising their kids. Boniface Mwangi shares with us his experiences of being a father; lessons he has learned over time, as Nelly Moraa tells us how and if male role models have impacted her life.
This is ahead of June 21st's Fathers' Day when we get to honor fathers and celebrate fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society as we partner with The Africa Alliance of YMCAs (AAYMCA) to create these conversations this weekend. Poetry, music, dance and film are part of what to expect.
