Black Movie festival
A pioneering film festival with no hang-ups, Black Movie resolutely swims against the tide of conventional movie fare with its annual 10-day menu of emerging talents and established filmmakers from Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Rooted in today's world, the festival reflects current aesthetic and social trends via a thematic approach. Each section is organized around social topics or current affairs, popular cinema, new urban cultures, genres or filmmakers, while Black Movie for Kids is dedicated to children.
All kinds of films are represented: fiction, documentaries, experimental or animated films, feature length or shorts. Our only requirement is that each film possess its own authentic voice, freedom of tone, and great cinematographic quality.
The festival has received growing recognition from international film directors and professionals as well as a 10 to 20% yearly rise in public attendance.
