Roland's father is white, his mother is black, he's a mulatto. That caused an identity crisis that lasted 20 years. To deal with it, he made a documentary about his crisis.

For the first time ever he talked with his parents about his mixed race and he met other mulattos to talk with, something he never dared to do before.
