Born in Eastleigh, Joe grew up in Nairobi and attended primary and secondary school in Kasarani.
Thereafter, he studied accounting and found a job in that field at the Aga Khan University Hospital where he worked for four years. Until that point, his life was pretty ordinary.
Joe Kinyua turned professional in 2008 with Brian Clemens and Dennis Spooners' comedy 'Will you still love me in the morning', produced by Festival of Creative arts. Since then, he has worked, both on stage and screen, locally and internationally. His international debut was as a journalist in a Dreamworks movie 'The fifth estate'.
Most recently he has been involved in the production of  several 'Africa Magic Original Films' . Joe Kinyua juggles his professional acting career between the Stage, Television and Film.
